SHOEI XR800 FULLFACE MOTORCYCLE HELMET BRAND NEW COLOUR BLACK PINK MULTI COLOURED Cost: The XR800 has Type A/ACU Gold approval, it is one of Shoei’s more modern designs and is usually priced between £170 - £200. The Noise Factor: The helmet has special acoustic suppression chambers built in to the cheek pads, this plus the unusual profile of the outer shell reduces wind noise and keeps it stable at speed. One of the key features is its visor, it completely wraps around the helmet, has no side pads and can be quickly removed without the need for coins or tools. The above features make the helmet very quiet at both speed and standstill. Comfort: The interior is well up to Shoei’s usual standard with a comfortable good quality lining, however on the minus side the lining is not removable for cleaning. The visor is large and clear offering a good view, although I will probably need to take out another mortgage when it needs replacing. Ventilation: Inside the helmet the chin area is greater than normal and vented to help reduce fogging ( like all helmets it can mist up at standstill ). On top of the helmet is a three position vent, plus extraction vents at the rear, these combine to force a flow of air over the top of your head keeping you cool on those hot summer days ( what hot summer days! ). Summary: Obviously with helmets the most important thing is the fit, if it feels secure and comfortable then its probably right for you. The XR800 is a quiet, comfortable, good quality helmet, and if you have a head shaped like an alien with the chin of Bruce Forsythe then it will fit you perfectly.
