Bought this to fit split link on 530 chain, instructions not the best but easy enough to figure it out, pressed on the compression fit side plate no problem, then used the fitting with the ball bearing to Brunel over the link pins, had to use a spanner as the tee bar supplied doesn’t give enough leverage unless your a silverback. Tool worked well, but haven’t used it to split a chain but not so bothered about that as when the time comes to remove chain I’ll just cut it off.

I had problems on other with the threads galling up and seizing. Those products (even the Motrax one) are not a patch on this product. It works well, has everything you need, has good material quality and importantly, will last more than one operation IMO. Highly recommended.

Only opened the box and not tried it yet. It’s looks sturdy enough but noticed that there is a really rough sharp metal edge from manufacturing. I can fix it myself in a few seconds with a file, but you guys (tru-tension) should really not be sending out products with defects like this.

"Wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal"....Der Spruch trifft hier leider zu. Zwar ist der Kaufpreis nicht allzu hoch, aber das merkt man direkt beim öffnen der Plastikverpackung. Alle Bauteile sind lose und rausgefallen. Könnte ja beim Transport lose geworden sein, aber nein. Beim Versuch die einzelnen Teilchen wieder zu verstauen ist dies nicht möglich. Es passt einfach nichts. Die einzelnen Metall-Schieber sind schief und macht es somit einem schwer die Kettenglieder zu trennen und im Anschluss zu vernieten. Einige Teile sind schon im ungebrauchten Zustand angebrochen und mit Haarrissen übersehen. Nachdem die Kette gewechselt wurde, konnte ich das Werkzeug-Set leider entsorgen. Somit kann ich diesen Artikel nicht empfehlen.
